A Northeast Regional, In–Residence Weekend TM Retreat & WPA
June 9–12, 2023 • Farmington CT
This Retreat facility, and the experience there, received great reviews from our recent retreat participants. (see below)
"A thousand "thank you's" for the weekend retreat! As my first TM retreat I went into it with an open mind and relaxed expectations, however, I carried with me a stressed, frazzled system. This was exactly what I needed to release a few hefty layers [of stress]! The reality that I now perceive is just astonishing...I feel grounded, centered and filled to the brim with vital energy. I lack the words to describe exactly how bright and balanced I feel," - Darcie (2022 September participant)
A Full Program of Knowledge and Experience
Deep Experience and Deep Rest: You will enjoy extended practice of your TM program (including instruction in yoga asanas and pranayam - neuro-muscular and neuro-respiratory integration techniques) in a program designed by Maharishi to accelerate your growth of experience. This will provide greater familiarity with the inner creative silence of Pure Consciousness, and deep, extended, rejuvenating rest for the body. This results in profound release of stress which effortlessly provides the basis for greater clarity, energy and happiness when returning home as you see from the experience above.
Beautiful talks of Maharishi: Beautiful video talks from 1969 to the most recent on everything from the correct start of meditation to profound understandings of Higher States of Consciousness - with plenty of time devoted to clarification, comments, analysis and to answering all your questions.
We will also lead discussions of your experiences. You will feel deeply comfortable and secure with your daily TM experience.
Understanding Ayurveda: One of the Retreat meetings will be devoted to understanding the fundamentals of Maharishi Ayurveda including simple tips for improved digestion, better health, more restful sleep and greater balance, from this complete and ancient science of natural health and longevity.
The unique experience of deep silence and knowledge over entire weekend results in dramatic reduction of accumulated stress and tension. Participants in TM retreats report that even one such weekend can boost energy, clarity and happiness for months afterwards. You'll also have the chance to meet like-minded TM practitioners from all over the Northeast and the country. Many people form lasting friendships, stay in touch and plan to return to retreats together in the future.

Our third retreat here - Silent, Serene, Welcoming
From our Sept 2022 Retreat at Our Lady of Calvary:
"Really loved and needed last weekends reconnection to TM that you both hosted so beautifully. I loved the retreat house in all aspects. It was quietly nestled in the woods with fascinating trees and bird life inspiring us on walks and during our meetings through the large glass window beyond the tv screen. The food was perfect for rounding. Vegetarian, light, delicious and easy to digest between rounds. Rooms were very clean and quiet. The fact it is a religious retreat by design gave a lovely built-in meditative atmosphere to the space before we even started The staff were lovely and tried to accommodate any need. I give it 5 stars and will be back". - Syd
OLC is charming Catholic retreat facility in Farmington CT on 12 acres of lovely silent, serene grounds. https://www.ourladyofcalvary.net/
The capacity is 40. Please apply immediately.
Like most Catholic retreat facilities, the rooms are quite small, very simple, with a single twin bed, and with a sink in the room. Each has padded chair and a small closet area. Clean group baths are in each hallway with two showers, three sinks and four commode stalls.
The meeting hall is large, airy and very pleasant with lots of natural light and lovely wooded scenes enjoyed through the large windows. The seating is very comfortable with plenty of room to socially distance if desired. There is even a baby grand piano in the meeting hall and a very large (about 96 inch) monitor screen for viewing our videos, video-conferencing, and presentations.
Since the building is usually home to OLC's own retreats, please be aware that the bedrooms and meeting hall do have religious art, pictures and/or crucifixes. So if this will be an issue for you, best to wait for a different retreat.
The dining room is a spacious, charming and cozy space. The facility is deeply silent and there will be no others at the facility but us! If you find the bedroom too small for yoga asanas or rounding, there are plenty of other rooms and comfortable areas to do that in if you so choose. Bring your yoga mat and if you do not have one, please request one, and we will provide that for you. You can also buy one at the gift store.
The grounds for a peaceful walk and talk are "hallowed ground “ as the Director put it and offer great depth of silence and beauty. There are occasional deer on the property.
Everything is on one floor but 20 of the bedrooms are on a lower ground level where we would house those who have no difficulty with stairs. There is no elevator but the stairs are comfortable to climb and descend. All those who need no stairs can be housed on the floor with no stairs. Please let us know.
The kitchen staff went above and beyond in September to provide the kind of meals we require. They are very kind and were generous with their time. As always, all meals will be vegetarian but not vegan. If you have dietary restrictions we need to be informed of your exact needs well in advance to verify that they can be accommodated.
Covid precautions:
An antigen test (rapid test) or PCR will need to be taken, regardless of vaccination status, within 48 hours of the retreat and the results reported to us by Thursday evening. A negative Covid test result will be required to attend the retreat.
No close proximity to anyone confirmed positive with covid for the two weeks prior to the retreat, and no current symptoms.
The meeting hall is large enough to allow socially distancing to some degree for those who wish. We will limit dining to 4 people per table, so precautions will be taken to ensure your safety. But please do your part with the above requests.
Schedule, Arrival and Departure: All arrivals are on Friday, March 31. Retreat registration opens at 3PM . We suggest, if possible, you arrive by 5PM so you can settle into your room, do your evening meditation and come to dinner by 6:30PM. The evening orientation meeting begins at 8:00 PM. You'll need to arrive by then so that you receive your instructions for the course program you'll be doing in your room upon arising. Departure is after lunch on your last day. The full days of the retreat are full and self-sufficient; we ask that you leave any work, musical instruments, etc. at home.

"I just can't find the words to adequately express what this retreat did for me. My meditations seem broader and deeper. In daily life I am more comfortable on a deeper level, more at peace with a quiet joy." - M.B.
